There was no love lost between Kamala Harris’s campaign team and the Biden White House. During the election season, friction between the two camps ran high — and even afterward, traces of that rivalry lingered.
In her new memoir “107 Days,” Kamala Harris reveals that just moments before her pivotal debate with President Donald Trump, she received an unexpected and tense phone call from Joe Biden.
According to Harris, Biden was upset over reports that she had criticized him to campaign donors.

“Moments before I was set to go on stage, I got a call from Joe,” Harris wrote. “He was angry, asking why I’d been talking about him behind his back. My head had to be right. I had to be completely in the game. I just couldn’t understand why he would call me, right now, and make it all about himself.”
The exchange, Harris says, left her shaken at a crucial time in her campaign and underscored the strained relationship she had with her former boss.
In the months after leaving office, it was revealed that Joe Biden had been battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Reports this week indicate that he has now begun radiation treatment for the disease.
