Hillary Clinton Praises President Trump for Gaza Peace Deal Success

In a surprising show of bipartisan acknowledgment, Hillary Clinton offered rare praise for President Donald Trump’s leadership in securing the Gaza peace agreement that aims to end two years of devastating conflict in the region.

“I really commend President Trump and his administration,” Clinton said during an interview with CBS News 24/7 on Friday. “As well as Arab leaders in the region, for making the commitment to the 20-point plan and seeing a path forward for what’s often called the day after.”

Clinton’s remarks came just one day after Hamas accepted President Trump’s peace proposal — a breakthrough that has drawn applause from both Israelis and Gazans. The agreement is expected to bring an end to the prolonged war that has torn through the Gaza Strip.

Under the deal, the remaining 48 Israeli hostages are to be released as early as Monday. Israeli forces will gradually withdraw from Gaza, while Hamas will be disarmed. A transitional government overseen by an international body will be established to administer the territory.

The agreement also leaves open the possibility of an independent Palestinian state — described as an “aspiration” for the people of Gaza — though the exact terms remain undefined.

Clinton, who as Secretary of State under President Barack Obama supported a two-state solution, urged the Trump administration and global partners to ensure both sides adhere to the deal’s commitments.

“Let’s now support this process and bring it together — not just in a nonpartisan way in our own country, but literally internationally — as a great global commitment to bring peace, security, stability, and a better future to the Middle East,” she said.

Clinton also commended the administration’s strategy in bringing Israel back to the negotiating table after Hamas leaders were targeted during peace talks in Qatar last month.

“That provided an opening for both President Trump and his representatives to marshal all of the regional powers, including Qatar, and make it clear to Israel: ‘No, this is now enough. We cannot continue this. This conflict needs to end, and we’ve got to move on,’” Clinton noted.

Clinton isn’t the only Democrat acknowledging President Trump’s achievement. Jake Sullivan, who served as President Biden’s national security advisor, reluctantly credited Trump for ending the conflict.

“It’s only now, after all that time, that we have gotten to a deal,” Sullivan said.

Even President Obama weighed in, praising the peace agreement in a post on X — though he notably did not mention President Trump by name.
