Mutilated birds found drained of blood in NY as conspiracies of dark rituals and cult-like killings loom

Authorities in upstate New York are investigating what they believe may be ritualistic animal sacrifices after the grisly discovery of two decapitated roosters and a white dove, all drained of blood, near Lake Carmel in Putnam County on Friday.
The disturbing find, made along a wooded area on Holland Drive in the town of Kent, is the latest in a series of similar incidents that have alarmed residents and prompted fears of occult activity in the region.

“The area where this bag was found was only a short distance from where other bags of mutilated animals have been discovered in recent months, possibly the result of ritualistic killings,” the Putnam County SPCA said in a statement. The roosters were found stuffed inside a plastic bag, while the dove lay nearby.
So far this year, at least 10 comparable discoveries have been reported, including an April case in which two butchered birds were found in a garbage bag and dumped in the same general area, according to News12. Officials said the most recent birds had been completely drained of blood before being discarded.
“Extremely shocking,” one local resident told the outlet, echoing the growing concern among neighbors who fear something sinister is happening in their community.
Investigators note that certain animal offerings are sometimes linked to ritual practices found in voodoo, Santeria, and similar belief systems, though proving such connections can be difficult without direct evidence.
“At that moment, when they do the dumping, the only crime that’s being committed is a town ordinance or illegal dumping because we can’t prove at that moment that they did anything to the animals,” said Chief Ken Ross of the SPCA’s law enforcement division. “If we could catch them in the act, we’d have a lot more to go on.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information about these incidents to contact the Putnam County SPCA at 845-520-6915.
