Customers and employees at an In-N-Out Burger in Monrovia, California, got an unexpected visitor this week — a large python spotted in the restaurant’s drive-thru lane.

The snake, a ball python, was discovered Monday by a staff member, according to the Pasadena Humane Society. Workers quickly called for help, and the reptile was safely captured.

“The snake appears to have been well cared for, so it’s likely they recently escaped from a nearby home,” the Humane Society said in a statement. Officials are now searching for the owner and confirmed that the animal is not available for adoption.

Ball pythons, while non-venomous, can grow up to five feet in length. They typically hunt by biting and then constricting their prey.
