Jennifer Oliver O’Connell has a popular weekly column called Feel-Good Friday, where she spotlights uplifting moments that remind us goodness still exists in the world—and that we each have the ability to create it. But sometimes, life itself decides to deliver a little comic relief when we need it most. That’s exactly what happened this past Sunday morning, when an anti-ICE protester learned the hard way what happens when you forget to put your car in park.
According to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, the woman was loudly protesting the arrest of an illegal immigrant when her own vehicle began rolling away—clearly tired of waiting around. Caught up in her outrage, she apparently overlooked one very basic detail: securing her car. The result? A scene that practically wrote itself, with her misplaced anger overshadowed by her runaway ride.

Now, nobody here is cheering for real harm to come to anyone—but sometimes karma delivers a little slapstick justice. Most of us have made mistakes with our cars: forgetting to turn them off, leaving them unlocked, even pushing the gas tank a bit too far. But forgetting to put the car in park while yelling about ICE? That’s a whole new level of distracted.
One can’t help but wonder if it was forgetfulness… or if the car itself had simply had enough of the screeching and decided to roll away on its own. As funny as it was, the timing felt almost like a wink from the universe—a reminder that in these trying times, sometimes the best medicine really is laughter.
