The girl, who suffers from epilepsy, sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Jacobi Hospital. During the attack, she also experienced a seizure, her family said.
According to her mother, the child had previously been threatened by the same group. Fearing for her daughter’s safety, she had already requested a school transfer on two occasions. The transfer has since been approved, but the family says the girl will not feel secure until charges are filed.
“She doesn’t want to go back [to school]. She’s panicking. She’s traumatized. She was crying all night,” her mother explained.
A neighbor who witnessed the attack described the girl as completely defenseless. “She was just laying there, not even trying to defend herself,” he told News 12.
The NYPD confirmed receiving a complaint that three females attacked an 11-year-old girl. Police said the child was punched in the face, kicked in the head multiple times, and even struck with a rock.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the case. No arrests have been made at this time.
