Michigan Congressional Candidate Shelby Campbell Publicly Mocks Charlie Kirk’s Death: Laughs That MAGA ‘Can’t Get Your Person Back’

Michigan Democrat congressional candidate Shelby Campbell, who is running in the 13th Congressional District primary, is facing backlash after posting a disturbing video online mocking the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and ridiculing those mourning his death.
In the clip, Campbell celebrated comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s return to television after he spread false claims about Kirk’s killer. She taunted viewers by saying, “Hey MAGA, how bad does it hurt that Jimmy Kimmel is back, but you can’t get our person back?” while smirking and laughing.
When confronted by a critic who asked, “And you think people are going to vote for you? Dumb libs,” Campbell doubled down, addressing “Michiganders, specifically Detrioters,” before sneering, “Do you guys care that Charlie Kirk passed away? Yeah. I didn’t think so.”

Campbell then claimed her district “is primarily Black people” and suggested they wouldn’t care because, according to her, Kirk “said awful things about Black people.” She provided no examples to support her rhetoric.
She went on to add, “So no, I think my district will like me because I advocate for them as a White person…so…” before flipping off the camera and sticking out her tongue.
Campbell, who is fundraising through ActBlue, describes herself in her campaign bio as a single mother, a former assembly line worker, and a third-generation UAW member.
