Chilling video shows homeowner being shot dead while interrupting burglars

A Georgia woman was shot and killed outside her home in Decatur after confronting a group of burglars in a chilling incident caught on video.
Anna Scott, 36, had reportedly rushed home late Saturday night after receiving an alert from her doorbell camera app, which showed several individuals attempting to break into her house, according to DeKalb County police.
As Scott arrived in her Jeep, at least one of the suspects opened fire, striking her vehicle multiple times. Surveillance footage obtained by Fox5 Atlanta captured the moment of the shooting and showed the suspects fleeing the scene. Additional footage from a neighbor’s camera shows someone running out to assist Scott, who collapsed in the street.
Police officers responding to the scene found Scott with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her vehicle was discovered just inches from her front porch, riddled with bullet holes, according to a statement from the DeKalb County Police Department.
“It was gunshots … rapid gunshots,” one neighbor recalled in an interview with Fox5 Atlanta. Another resident, Jerome Willis, who knew Scott personally, expressed disbelief and grief. “This is a quiet neighborhood,” he said. “I’m just so sorry to hear about her passing away. They should find [the killer] as quickly as possible … for somebody to just kill an innocent person.”
As of now, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
