Two women were arrested this week in connection with the vandalism of a memorial honoring conservative commentator Charlie Kirk in Bentonville, Arkansas.
According to a press release from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Kerri Melissa Rollo and 22-year-old Kaylee Heather Rollo were taken into custody after a video surfaced showing the defacement of a memorial set up on the steps of the Benton County Courthouse.
Video footage obtained by local outlet 40/29 News shows one of the women knocking over candles, tearing up signs, and making an obscene gesture toward the camera. She can also be heard shouting an expletive directed at Kirk. The other woman is seen standing nearby.
The video was initially shared on social media by Benton County Justice of the Peace Joseph Bollinger, who said he received the clip from an anonymous source.
“Everyone has a right to express themselves,” Bollinger told 40/29 News. “But when you vandalize a memorial, you’re not only damaging property — you’re disrespecting the grieving process and the memory of a person. You’re trampling on Benton County values.”
Following the incident, online users identified the two women, prompting one of them, Kaylee Rollo, to start a GoFundMe campaign. In the fundraiser description, she stated that her sister Kerri Rollo had been terminated from her job as a result of the public backlash.
“After the recent events surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death, my sibling and I are being doxxed online, and my sibling was fired from their job,” Kaylee wrote. “This is a direct violation of their First Amendment rights. This is unfortunate, but anything helps.”
She concluded by asking for support, saying the fundraiser aimed to help her sibling find new employment and “stand against the tyranny that is creeping into the country.”
