Amazon slammed for selling Charlie Kirk’s blood-stained ‘Freedom’ hoodies, ‘Shameful…’

The fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Friday has ignited widespread reactions across the country. The incident, captured in a graphic video that quickly went viral on social media, has transformed the 31-year-old political commentator into a symbol for both supporters and critics.

Following the spread of the video, tributes poured in from fans and allies, with many gathering in cities nationwide to mourn Kirk’s death and honor his legacy. At the same time, the video’s viral status has sparked a wave of controversy, as it has also become the basis for a growing amount of online merchandise.

Among the most discussed items is a hoodie bearing the word “Freedom” with what appears to be a bloodstain print — a direct reference to the circumstances of Kirk’s death. The hoodie, sold on Amazon by a brand named Sjosio, was listed for $22. The design has drawn backlash from Kirk’s supporters, who have called it distasteful and exploitative.

Other apparel, including T-shirts from a brand named TeleTeeShirt, has also come under fire. One design, priced at $22.99, features slogans like “Debate Me” — a phrase associated with Kirk — and “Protect Ya Neck,” referencing a song by hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Critics argue the shirts trivialize a tragic event.

The merchandise has led to growing anger directed at Amazon for allowing such products to be sold on its platform. Social media users have called on the company to remove the listings, accusing it of profiting from tragedy.

“Hey Amazon, you have 1 hour to take this down. Signed: People ready to hurt you financially,” one user wrote. Another added, “They who profit from tragedy like Amazon… are pouring salt on the wounds we are trying to heal.”

Amazon has yet to release an official statement addressing the backlash.

The suspect in Kirk’s killing, 24-year-old Tyler Robinson, was apprehended shortly after the incident and remains in custody as investigations continue.
