A startling video captured an inmate hanging out of the back window of a moving prison transport van on an Oklahoma freeway, shouting for help from passing drivers.
The footage, taken on September 2 and shared widely on TikTok, shows the shirtless man — still in shackles — with his upper body fully outside a broken rear window of the van as it sped down Interstate 40 through Oklahoma City, according to NBC News.
In the video, the inmate appears to be yelling at nearby drivers and trying to open the back door of the vehicle. One of the people filming can be heard saying, “Don’t you f—in’ do it, bro,” as the chaotic scene unfolds.
Witnesses said the incident lasted about two minutes before the van pulled off the highway.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the van was involved in a “routine transport” when the inmate broke the window. Officers quickly noticed the situation, exited the freeway, and called for backup.
“The inmate was safely secured and transported without further incident,” the department said in a statement to KFOR.
