Healthy dose of truth Trump defiantly addresses health speculation

President Donald Trump returned to social media Sunday, declaring that he has “never felt better” following days of speculation about his health. The online rumors, fueled by his absence from public events, had sparked a wave of speculation — including a trending hashtag on X (formerly Twitter) that falsely claimed he had died.

Trump reappeared on Truth Social after a quiet weekend spent golfing at his Virginia resort.

“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!” he wrote, referencing the recent federal oversight of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department.

The rumors intensified after the White House released a blank presidential schedule on Friday, prompting widespread chatter on social media. However, speculation was quashed when Trump was seen publicly on Saturday, heading to a golf outing in Sterling, Virginia, accompanied by his granddaughter Kai Trump.

Despite Trump’s brief absence from the spotlight, efforts to curb crime in the nation’s capital continued. Under federal guidance, violent crime in Washington, D.C., has dropped 45% compared to the same time last year, while overall crime is down 15%. Even Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser acknowledged the improvement during a press conference last week.

“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” Bowser said.

Following his online statement, Trump continued posting on Truth Social, using the early Labor Day weekend to highlight what he described as the resilience of the U.S. economy under his influence.
