Trump blasts ‘stupid’ contractor who damaged White House custom Rose Garden limestone
President Donald Trump publicly criticized a White House subcontractor on Saturday, accusing the company of damaging stonework in the Rose Garden during a recent renovation.
Trump posted security camera footage of the alleged incident on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he claimed that workers caused a significant crack in the limestone surface while moving a shrub on a steel cart.
“Surfaces are very important to me as a builder, as everyone knows,” Trump wrote. “The Rose Garden is completed, and far more beautiful than anyone ever had in mind when it was conceived of, decades ago.”

According to Trump, he discovered a “huge gash” in the limestone spanning more than 25 yards, which he described as “deep and nasty.” He blamed unnamed workers from a subcontracting firm, referring to them as “stupid people,” and criticized their supervisor for allegedly watching the damage occur without intervening.
“I love and respect great workers and contractors, but something like this should never happen,” Trump said. He added that the damaged stone would be replaced at the contractor’s expense and vowed to bar the company from future White House work.

“We caught them, cold. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.
It remains unclear exactly when the damage took place.
