FBI Raids Former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s Maryland Home

The FBI conducted a raid early Friday morning at the Bethesda, Maryland, home of John Bolton, who served as National Security Adviser under former President Donald Trump.

According to reports first published by The New York Post, agents arrived at Bolton’s residence around 7 a.m. The operation is part of a national security investigation that, sources say, centers on the handling of classified documents.

FBI Director Kash Patel, who was appointed to a senior intelligence role during the Trump administration, is reportedly overseeing the case. As the raid began, Patel posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”

The investigation reportedly dates back several years but was shelved under the Biden administration, allegedly for political reasons, according to a senior U.S. official cited by The Post.

Bolton has faced scrutiny in the past for potentially including classified material in his 2020 memoir, The Room Where It Happened. Since his departure from the Trump administration in 2018, he has been a vocal critic of the former president.

As of now, the FBI has not provided further details about the raid or confirmed whether Bolton is facing any charges. The agency has only confirmed that the operation is linked to a national security matter.
