Latest South Park Episode Takes On Feds’ Takeover of DC
South Park continued its sharp political satire this week, taking aim at the Trump administration in its latest episode on Comedy Central. The animated series addressed the fictional federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police force, showing familiar landmarks like the Capitol and Supreme Court as armed troops and tanks patrolled the streets. One scene featured the character Towelie—a sentient, talking towel—observing the militarized cityscape from a bus before eventually landing in the Oval Office with President Trump.
The episode’s main storyline focused on artificial intelligence but also lampooned world leaders and tech executives for their allegiance to Trump. It marked the second episode of the new season, which has taken a notably aggressive stance toward the former president.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was also a target. The episode referenced a controversial anecdote from her biography in which she described killing a family dog due to its behavior. South Park portrayed Noem shooting puppies and being followed by a team of beauticians tasked with reattaching her face.
The season premiere, which aired earlier this month, mocked Trump’s physical appearance and featured a surreal scene of him in bed with Satan—a scenario revisited in this week’s episode.
Although the White House has dismissed South Park as irrelevant and low-tier entertainment, the show continues to draw attention. Comedy Central reported that the Noem episode achieved the highest audience share in the show’s history, indicating strong viewer engagement despite—or perhaps because of—its provocative content.
