NYPD hunting for subway dognapper who stole sleeping passenger’s pup
Police are searching for a suspect who stole a dog from a sleeping passenger aboard a New York City subway train in a bold early-morning theft.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. Sunday on a northbound D train near the Bainbridge Avenue and East 206th Street station in the Bronx, according to the NYPD.
The victim, a 45-year-old man, was asleep when the thief took his American Bully dog—described as black and brown in color—and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, approximately 20 to 25 years old, with a slender build, medium-length black braids, brown eyes, and a black goatee. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black faded jacket, black t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and a black Yankees baseball cap. Surveillance footage shows the suspect smirking while passing through a subway turnstile.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
