BBC lost all hard-earned credibility in just 2 days

BBC was long regarded as very serious media that takes its reputation very seriously. Only recently they claimed not to label Hamas as terrorists for the sake of staying neutral and unbiased, which might be seen controversial today, but is respectable for media known for accuracy and being unbiased.
Then the hospital story came.
BBC reported that hospital was destroyed by Israel air strike, with hundreds of dead. Next day it turns out it was not Israel, but actually Hamas rocket in a friendly fire accident. Frankly, I thought this was already a catastrophic blow for BBC’s reputation, the whole ‘staying unbiased’ stance was simply shattered by BBC posting an unchecked and clearly biased material.
But then the next day came, and it turned out that not only the strike was by “the other team”, but the hospital itself was not destroyed at all! BBC came out as not only biased media, but media that doesn’t even care to check hard facts!
In just two days the long-earned reputation of factually accurate and unbiased media was completely destroyed. This is probably the most dramatic and shortest shift from a trusted media to yellow journalism that I have seen.
