A child pornography investigation that began more than 1,000 miles away in Illinois has led to the arrest of a New Braunfels woman.
According to the New Braunfels Police Department. said the investigation began June 29 after the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office in Rock Island, Illinois, contacted New Braunfels detectives about an ongoing case in its jurisdiction.
During that investigation, Illinois investigators identified a woman living in New Braunfels who was allegedly associated with the possession and distribution of child pornography or bestiality.
New Braunfels detectives opened a local investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for Michelle Nicole Johnson, 35.
On Wednesday, officers served the warrant and took Johnson into custody and she was transported to the Comal County Jail.
Johnson is charged with Possession or Accessing Computer-generated Child Pornography and Bestiality.
