A new report has surfaced making a series of claims about Bryon Noem, the husband of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, regarding alleged online communications and a long-running private relationship with an online sex worker.
According to an interview cited by the Daily Mail, a dominatrix who identified herself as Shy Sotomayor says she exchanged messages with Bryon Noem over several years. She claims the relationship began around 2016, when he allegedly used a pseudonym and initially concealed his identity.
Sotomayor alleges that over time, Noem discussed personal fantasies involving gender transition and expressed interest in adopting a different gender presentation. In the messages she describes, he reportedly spoke about undergoing medical and cosmetic procedures and about living as a woman, including choosing the name “Crystal.”

She also claims he frequently made emotional comparisons between her and his spouse, suggesting dissatisfaction with his marriage and at times expressing interest in leaving his family life behind. According to her account, he also paid significant sums of money for private online interactions.
The dominatrix says she eventually began to suspect his real identity after noticing details tied to his phone number and mailing information, which led her to connect him to Bryon Noem. She further alleges that their communications included periods of closeness followed by tension, especially when discussions turned to his wife.

The report also states that after photographs circulated showing Noem in cross-dressing attire, his wife, Kristi Noem, through a spokesperson, said the family was “devastated” and caught off guard by the situation.
Sotomayor claims their last contact took place in late March, shortly after Kristi Noem’s departure from her role as Homeland Security Secretary.
Bryon Noem has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.
