Bruce Springsteen, who is widely believed to be worth more than a billion dollars, recently drew criticism after delivering a strongly worded political speech during a tour event where he spoke out against President Trump and wealthy Americans.

During the appearance, Springsteen condemned some of the country’s most affluent figures, accusing them of neglecting global humanitarian responsibilities. His comments have sparked backlash from critics who point out that the longtime rock star himself has amassed a massive personal fortune.

According to a March 2026 Forbes list titled “The World’s Celebrity Billionaires,” Springsteen ranks 15th with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion.

In his remarks to the audience, Springsteen claimed that America’s wealthiest individuals have allowed suffering to continue among vulnerable populations worldwide by supporting policies that reduce U.S. foreign aid. He said the rollback of aid programs is leaving poor children exposed to disease and hardship.

Springsteen also expressed concern about the direction of U.S. foreign policy and international relationships. He warned that weakening NATO and other long-standing alliances could undermine the global stability that has existed since the end of World War II.

The musician further criticized rhetoric and policies he believes strain relationships with allied nations. He referenced countries such as Canada and the Netherlands, noting their historic cooperation with the United States in military conflicts and suggesting that recent political tensions could damage those partnerships.

The comments quickly generated reactions from critics who argued that Springsteen’s message is inconsistent with his own wealth and influence. Some suggested that a billionaire criticizing wealthy Americans invites scrutiny of his own position.

The speech has placed Springsteen once again in the middle of political debate, as supporters and critics continue to argue over the role celebrities should play in national political discussions.
