Medical examiner who made vile post cheering on Trump’s ‘big beautiful obituary’ placed on leave

A Florida medical examiner has been placed on administrative leave following an internal review triggered by a controversial social media post in which he expressed a desire for President Trump’s death.

The official, Bob Pflazgraf, who works as an associate medical examiner with the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Office, posted on X shortly after midnight on Monday. In the post, he wrote that he was “looking forward to the big beautiful obituary,” a remark widely interpreted as referencing President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and his comments about Donald Trump.

The message circulated widely after being amplified by a conservative social media account the following day, prompting public backlash. By Tuesday, city officials confirmed that Pflazgraf had been removed from active duty while an investigation was launched into the incident. A city spokesperson said he had been placed on administrative leave pending review of the circumstances surrounding the post.

Following the attention, Pflazgraf changed his X account to private and told WOKV that he would wait to see how the city proceeds before making further comments. Public records indicate he is among the highest-paid employees in the city, earning approximately $306,653 annually. He joined the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Office in 2020 and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1984.

The case is not the first time Pflazgraf has faced scrutiny. In May 2021, he was arrested in Fleming Island on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to an arrest report, he allegedly threatened another driver and later told the responding officer, “You know who I am?!” He ultimately entered a no contest plea and received 12 months of probation.

He currently holds medical licenses in Florida, Ohio, and New Mexico, and his Florida license is scheduled to expire in January 2027.
