4 Texas teens allegedly kidnapped, tortured classmate for talking to one of their girlfriends

Police say four 17-year-old students from Texas have been accused of abducting and severely assaulting a classmate after becoming angry that he had been communicating with one of their girlfriends.

Authorities identified the suspects as Austin teenagers Jose Rojas-Alvarado, Oscar Armando Santiago-Martinez, Angel Lemus-Perez, and Carlos Roberto Oliva-Villeda. According to court documents obtained by KVUE, investigators allege the group restrained the victim, burned him, and beat him while repeatedly pointing a gun at his head.

The victim, whose name has not been released, had reportedly been friends with the group for about two years. On Feb. 19, he was persuaded to leave Del Valle High School after the teens suggested they go get pizza. Instead, three of the suspects drove him to a residence where the fourth teenager was waiting.

According to the affidavit, the group spent roughly an hour talking casually inside a detached garage before the situation changed. The victim told police the teens then ordered him to sit in a chair in the middle of the room.

Investigators say the suspects used duct tape to bind the victim’s hands, feet, and mouth. While one of them held a gun to his head, the others allegedly struck him with aluminum baseball bats, a cane, and a belt. The affidavit also states that Lemus-Perez heated a box cutter with a lighter and pressed it against the victim’s chest.

Police say Rojas-Alvarado allegedly forced the teen to drink from a bottle containing clear alcohol and threatened to cut off one of his toes if he refused. The victim also told investigators that Rojas-Alvarado at one point grabbed a chainsaw and a machete and threatened to remove parts of his body. A plastic bag was also reportedly placed over his head.

Toward the end of the ordeal, the victim said Rojas-Alvarado told him the attack was motivated by jealousy because he had been talking to the suspect’s girlfriend and was expected to stop.

The victim told police he was eventually released and left in a different location after the attackers deleted their contact information from his phone. He later reached a bus stop and reported what had happened to authorities.

Officers noted the victim had heavy bruising on his chest, back, and legs.

During interviews with investigators, Santiago-Martinez, Lemus-Perez, and Oliva-Villeda allegedly admitted that the kidnapping had been planned about a week earlier.

All four teens are facing charges of aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, as well as engaging in organized criminal activity, according to court records.

School officials told News 4 San Antonio that the four students are no longer enrolled in the district.
