Teacher who ‘reeked’ of weed ‘every single day’ allegedly tried to sell drugs at school
A math teacher at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, North Carolina, has been arrested for allegedly selling marijuana on campus. Authorities say the teacher, 33-year-old Jocelyn McArthur, was found in possession of the drug with the intent to distribute, as well as a pink-colored stun gun.
According to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, McArthur, who taught honors math and was in her fifth year at the school, faces multiple charges: possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell near a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, general possession of a controlled substance, and carrying a Taser on school grounds.

One former colleague, speaking anonymously, said McArthur’s arrest follows years of unusual behavior. The coworker claimed the administration had previously attempted to remove her from the school. “She reeked of marijuana every day, and her classroom smelled the same,” the colleague said. “The principal tried to fire her twice, but she was sent back by the county office each time.”

McArthur, a mother of two daughters aged 10 and 14, is currently being held at the Harnett County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Court records indicate she is scheduled to appear before a judge on April 14.
