Secret Service agent on Jill Biden detail shoots self in the leg, official says

A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to protect former first lady Jill Biden accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday morning in what officials described as a negligent discharge.
Authorities said Dr. Jill Biden was not nearby when the incident occurred.
According to the Secret Service, the agent was handling a service weapon during a protective assignment at Philadelphia International Airport when the firearm discharged, causing a non-life-threatening injury.
No one else was hurt in the incident. Emergency responders arrived at the airport and transported the agent to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Police said he was listed in stable condition while being evaluated.
The Philadelphia Police Department reported that the area where the shooting happened was secured for investigative purposes, but airport operations were not affected.
The Secret Service said its Office of Professional Responsibility will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
