Arnold Schwarzenegger helping train love child at Venice gym
Joseph Baena, the 28-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, is preparing to step onto the bodybuilding stage for the first time this Saturday at a competition in Colorado. His famous father has been actively helping him train as he gets ready for the event.
Schwarzenegger, the 78-year-old former Governor of California and Hollywood action star, has been working with Baena at Gold’s Gym in Venice, California. Videos shared on Baena’s TikTok show him lifting heavy weights while Schwarzenegger watches closely, guiding his son as he follows a path similar to his own. Schwarzenegger is a seven-time Mr. Olympia champion and widely regarded as one of the most recognizable bodybuilders in history. In one clip, Baena captioned his workout with the phrase “You have to shock the muscles.”

In another post, Baena wrote “almost showtime” while flexing for his social media followers. Earlier this month, on March 18, he shared that he had gained 18 pounds over the previous eight weeks as he prepared for his debut at the NPC Natural Colorado State Championships. The competition is scheduled to take place Saturday at the Pinnacle Performing Arts Center in Denver, according to TMZ.
According to information on the event’s page, all competitors must undergo drug testing. The notice explains that every athlete who enters the contest will be tested, and there is no additional charge for the process. It also notes that while the testing may be inconvenient, it ensures the same standards for every competitor.

Participants must also complete a 30-minute polygraph test before the competition. Testing will take place at designated locations in either Colorado Springs or Denver, which will be announced. Competitors must accept the polygraph results, and no refunds will be issued if an athlete fails the test.
For years, there has been speculation about whether Baena would pursue bodybuilding like his father. Schwarzenegger revealed in 2011 that Baena was his son following a one-night encounter with former housekeeper Mildred “Patty” Baena. The revelation led to the end of his 25-year marriage to Maria Shriver.
Among Schwarzenegger’s five children, Baena has most closely followed his father’s path, both in bodybuilding and acting. He spent much of his childhood living with his mother in Bakersfield, California.
In a 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Baena spoke about his relationship with his father. He described Schwarzenegger as an incredible parent and someone he deeply admires, saying he has always received strong support from him.

Schwarzenegger himself has also been spending more time in the gym recently. Reports indicate he is training intensely as he prepares to return to one of his most famous roles in a sequel to Conan the Barbarian.
The original Conan the Barbarian was released in May 1982, when Schwarzenegger was 34 years old and played the lead role. The film was a major success, earning $79 million at the box office and helping establish him as a Hollywood star. He later appeared in the 1984 sequel Conan the Destroyer, the same year he played the Terminator.
Plans for a new installment, often referred to as “King Conan,” have been discussed for decades. The story is expected to center on an older version of the warrior who must once again take up the fight.
A remake of Conan the Barbarian was released in 2011 with Jason Momoa in the lead role, but it did poorly at the box office.

If the new sequel moves forward, it could mark a major return for Schwarzenegger and potentially serve as a final chapter in his long film career.
