WATCH: Is She Drunk? Pelosi Attacks President Trump, Goes on Insane Rant During January 6 Plaque Unveiling Ceremony

During a Capitol ceremony on Wednesday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered an extended speech at the unveiling of a plaque honoring Capitol Police officers. The tribute, installed earlier this month, recognizes the law enforcement personnel who responded during the January 6, 2021, events at the U.S. Capitol.

Democratic lawmakers, including Pelosi and Representative Adam Schiff, spoke at the event, highlighting the role of Capitol police in protecting Congress. In her remarks, Pelosi claimed that President Trump incited the January 6 events, despite the fact that he was never charged with insurrection.

Pelosi described the bravery of officers who faced the rioters and recounted her personal experiences during the day. She spoke of her staff taking cover behind furniture in her office as rioters attempted to breach the building. “I’ll never forgive them for the trauma they caused not only my staff but all the staff on Capitol Hill,” Pelosi said, referring to the individuals present during the chaos.

She also recalled being pulled from the podium while presiding over the certification of the presidential election, expressing concern for the safety of officers protecting her.

Footage released by the House Oversight Committee in June 2024 shows Pelosi taking responsibility for security lapses on January 6. Reports also indicated that she and Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser were warned about potential threats the night before and decided not to deploy National Guard troops to the Capitol. Critics have argued that this decision contributed to the vulnerability of the building that day.

The controversy over National Guard deployment continued, with Pelosi denying allegations of refusing assistance, stating that it was not her decision and criticizing questions framed as “Republican talking points.”

The plaque unveiling serves as a reminder of the officers’ actions during January 6, while Pelosi’s remarks and the surrounding debate continue to fuel political discussion over the events and decisions leading up to that day.
