A short-term rental home in Celina turned into the site of a massive weekend gathering after a social media post drew far more guests than the property’s owner had authorized.

The North Texas homeowner said he had agreed to host a group of seven people at the house on Choate Parkway. Instead, authorities estimate that between 500 and 800 teenagers and young adults showed up Saturday night after details of the party circulated online.

Celina Police Chief John Cullison said officers were dispatched following numerous 911 calls. Callers reported not only loud noise but also gunfire and armed individuals making threats near the front entrance. Police responded quickly to the scene.

When officers arrived, they encountered a large crowd that began to scatter. During their response, officers reported hearing several gunshots and conducted a search of the property. No one was found to have been struck by gunfire.

Two arrests were made in connection with the incident. One individual was taken into custody on a minor DUI charge, and another was arrested on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault unrelated to the party.

Homeowner Kishore Karlapudi said the house sustained extensive damage. He reported broken fixtures, furniture stacked in the garage, and bloodstains on linens. He also said a granite countertop was cracked, appearing to have been damaged by people standing or dancing on it. Karlapudi described the aftermath as shocking.
