Elderly Leftist Couple ARRESTED for Vandalizing Republican Office in Illinois

Two senior residents of Arlington Heights, Illinois, have been charged following a police investigation into vandalism at the headquarters of the Republicans of Wheeling Township earlier this year.

Arlington Heights police announced that 72-year-old Brock McNerney and 69-year-old Moisette McNerney were arrested Monday in connection with damage done to the political organization’s office in January. Authorities said both individuals were taken into custody without incident and later released while awaiting their first court appearance.

The couple faces misdemeanor counts under Illinois law, including criminal damage to property and criminal defacement of property.

The investigation began after the headquarters was vandalized late on the night of January 25. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a man wearing glasses and a woman, both dressed in black, writing explicit language and drawing several Nazi symbols across the windows of the Arlington Heights office. Some of the markings were placed over the image of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk, who was born in Arlington Heights, previously had ties to the organization. Deputy Committeeman John Saletta said the vandalism was especially upsetting given Kirk’s connection to the local group.

According to Saletta, the symbols drawn on the building included antisemitic imagery. He also noted that the office had installed surveillance cameras after a separate act of vandalism occurred there in December.

Saletta described the graffiti as deeply offensive and emphasized that disagreements should be handled through conversation rather than destructive acts. He said that approach reflects the type of dialogue Charlie Kirk has promoted.
