Quadruple amputee, pro cornhole player allegedly shot and killed victim — then drove off with body
A 27-year-old quadruple amputee, known for his success as a professional cornhole player and for posting videos of himself handling firearms, has been charged with fatally shooting a companion after an argument, then driving away with the victim still in his vehicle.
Authorities say Dayton James Webber was taking three friends for a late-night ride in his Tesla SUV in Maryland on Sunday when a dispute erupted between him and the front-seat passenger, Bradrick Michael Wells. The disagreement allegedly escalated, and Webber shot Wells, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. The two passengers in the backseat quickly exited the car when Webber pulled over.

Webber reportedly asked the remaining passengers to help remove Wells from the vehicle. When they refused, he left them on the side of the road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, with Wells still inside the SUV. About two hours later, someone discovered Wells’ body in a yard on Newport Church Road. Police confirmed his death at the scene.
Webber’s Tesla was later located more than 100 miles away in Charlottesville, Virginia. He had gone to a local hospital seeking treatment for a medical issue, the sheriff’s office said. After his release, officers from the Albemarle County Police Department arrested him. Webber faces charges as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition to Maryland, where he will be charged with first- and second-degree murder.

Webber gained recognition in the American Cornhole League despite losing his lower arms and legs to a bacterial infection when he was 10 months old. Determined to overcome his disability, he took up wrestling in middle school and learned to move independently by scooting on his leg stumps. In a 2023 ESPN profile, he explained that he preferred relying on his own abilities rather than depending on others.

As a child, Webber expressed ambitions of becoming either a priest or a Secret Service agent. While he did not pursue the clergy, he remained interested in law enforcement and became proficient with firearms. Videos posted to his YouTube channel show him firing a 9mm handgun until empty, with shotgun shell casings scattered across the surrounding grass.
