Billionaire neighbors go to war with iconic Montecito ‘Pig House’

In Montecito, where sprawling estates and celebrity homes are the norm, one property has residents raising eyebrows — and not in admiration.

Nicknamed the “Pig House,” this unusual estate is covered, floor to ceiling, in pig-themed items. The collection reportedly includes around 6,000 pig figurines scattered throughout the property. Pigs stare from shelves, grin from counters, and even appear as a chef sculpture next to a pig-shaped grill in the backyard. Inside, the theme continues with bathrooms, cabinets, and nearly every surface displaying some form of porcine decoration.

Neighbors have voiced frustration over the spectacle. Some have approached owner Nikki Grosso to question whether such an extreme display is necessary, while others have allegedly taken matters into their own hands, with reports of items being stolen from the property, according to SFGate.

Grosso, however, remains committed to her collection. What began decades ago as a single pig figurine given to her husband, a police officer, evolved into a lifelong obsession. Over time, one pig multiplied into hundreds, and hundreds into thousands, with contributions from friends, vacations, antique shops, and roadside discoveries.

Following her husband’s passing, Grosso has continued to grow the collection as a tribute, with each piece carrying a personal story. The home has become a local landmark, attracting tourists, photographers, and even tour buses eager to glimpse the eccentric display.

But the era of the Pig House may soon come to an end. Grosso plans to sell the property within the next year, and the collection is expected to be sold off, likely in an online auction, item by item.

Until then, Montecito’s Pig House remains a bold, unmistakable statement: a mix of whimsy, devotion, and chaos that stands out in a town known for its polished perfection.
