Guthrie family makes heartbreaking appeal as search for missing Nancy Guthrie stalls
The Guthrie family is pleading with the Arizona community for any information that could lead to the safe return of their 84-year-old mother, who went missing more than six weeks ago.
In a statement shared with KVOA on Saturday, Nancy Guthrie’s three children thanked Tucson residents for their ongoing support but emphasized that the search for their mother is far from over. They urged locals to come forward with any details, no matter how small, that could help authorities.
“We continue to believe that people in Tucson and the broader southern Arizona area may hold the answers that could bring closure to this case,” the family said. “Someone knows something, even if they don’t realize it’s important. We ask everyone to review their memories, particularly around the early morning hours of February 1 and the late evening of January 31, as well as the night of January 11.”

They encouraged residents to check any potential sources of information, including camera recordings, text messages, journals, or conversations, and stressed that no detail is too minor to share.
The statement reflected the family’s deep anguish. “We miss our mother terribly and cannot rest until she is home,” they said. “We cannot grieve in a normal way; we can only live with the constant ache of not knowing.”

Nancy Guthrie, mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson home during the early morning of February 1. Authorities were alerted when she did not arrive at church, and doorbell camera footage later showed a masked individual lingering near her entrance during the time police believe she was taken.
Police have yet to identify any suspects in connection with her disappearance.
