NEW: WATCH Saudi Arabia Threatens Military Action Against Iran
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Tensions in the Gulf are escalating as Saudi Arabia signals it may take military measures in response to repeated Iranian attacks. The Iranian regime has launched a series of missiles and drones targeting Gulf nations that host US forces, a strategy that increasingly risks provoking retaliation from these Arab countries—and potentially drawing them into coordinated action alongside the US and Israel.
Saudi Arabia has now issued one of its strongest warnings yet. Following overnight strikes that targeted Riyadh and key oil facilities, the kingdom’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, said the country would not hesitate to defend itself and its economic assets. “We will not bow to pressure from Iran,” he declared, emphasizing that Riyadh has “reserved the right to take military actions if deemed necessary.”
Prince Faisal also highlighted the breakdown of trust between the two nations, noting that the fragile confidence restored when diplomatic ties resumed in 2023 has now been “completely shattered.” The latest wave of attacks included eight ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh and a drone strike on an oil refinery along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.

So far, the Gulf states have refrained from direct retaliation. However, they have repeatedly warned that assaults on their energy infrastructure will not go unanswered. With oil and gas prices already under pressure, Riyadh stressed that its patience with Iran is running out, leaving open the possibility of a military response.
