Disgraced NY teacher nicknamed ‘Major Hands’ accused of hosting ‘prostitution parties’
A retired military officer and teacher, known by the nickname “Major Hands,” now faces federal charges for allegedly running a prostitution operation out of his home in upstate New York.
Eric Simpson, 66, who taught technology in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District, is accused of turning his Macedon residence into the site of repeated “prostitution parties” between 2021 and late 2025. Federal authorities say Simpson not only hosted these gatherings but also coordinated the involvement of commercial sex workers for himself and his guests. The indictment, filed March 10, alleges that Simpson actively promoted and managed these events.

According to prosecutors in the Western District of New York, Simpson allegedly used email to advertise the parties, providing updates on which sex workers would be present. The communications reportedly guided clients on negotiating payment—referred to as “donations for services”—with the participants, as well as instructions on entry fees, room assignments, and parking arrangements designed to keep the gatherings discreet.
The indictment identifies Simpson as “Major Hands” and notes his 29-year service in the New York National Guard, including deployments to Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He concluded his military career as a commissioned officer in Rochester and Troy, New York, in 2010. Afterward, he worked as a substitute English teacher in Monroe County before taking his most recent role teaching technology at North Rose-Wolcott. He resigned from that position in January, according to a statement to 13 WHAM.

Simpson has been charged with one count of using interstate facilities to promote, manage, establish, carry on, and facilitate a prostitution enterprise. He was arraigned on Wednesday and entered a plea of not guilty.
