A KTLA news crew in Monrovia, California, got a lot more than they bargained for this weekend while covering a terrifying bear attack on Sunday.

KTLA reporter Erin Myers was covering the story of a woman who had just been injured by a bear while walking her dog. The animal had lunged at the woman, leaving a claw mark behind her knee. As Myers spoke to the camera from a quiet residential street, a black bear suddenly strolled into view behind her, interrupting the live broadcast. “You can see the bear actually walking into the trap, or no, it was going to, but now it’s walking out,” Myers commented, trying to remain calm.

The brief but surreal appearance of the bear was captured live, leaving viewers and the crew momentarily stunned. Authorities were working to determine whether the bear seen on camera was the same one responsible for the attack. Fortunately, the bear seemed uninterested in sticking around. After pausing near the scene, it eventually wandered back into the nearby brush, avoiding any further confrontation.
