“Military Consequences… At a Level Never Seen Before”: Trump Issues Dire Warning

President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran’s government, demanding the immediate removal of any naval mines reportedly being placed in the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz.

According to a report from CBS News, U.S. intelligence officials believe Iran may be preparing to deploy naval mines in the shipping lanes of the Strait of Hormuz.

Intelligence estimates indicate the Iranian regime may possess between 2,000 and 6,000 naval mines. Many of these could be deployed by small boats or other vessels operating in the Persian Gulf.

The Strait of Hormuz is widely regarded as the most important oil chokepoint in the world, with roughly one-fifth of global crude oil shipments passing through the narrow waterway.

President Trump responded forcefully on Truth Social, warning that any Iranian attempt to mine the strait would face severe consequences.

Trump wrote:

“If Iran has put out any mines in the Hormuz Strait, and we have no reports of them doing so, we want them removed, IMMEDIATELY! If for any reason mines were placed, and they are not removed forthwith, the Military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before.

“If, on the other hand, they remove what may have been placed, it will be a giant step in the right direction! Additionally, we are using the same Technology and Missile capabilities deployed against Drug Traffickers to permanently eliminate any boat or ship attempting to mine the Hormuz Strait. They will be dealt with quickly and violently. BEWARE!”

The situation appeared to escalate quickly.

About 13 minutes later, President Trump posted another message on Truth Social indicating that U.S. forces had already taken action.

“I am pleased to report that within the last few hours, we have hit, and completely destroyed, 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships, with more to follow!”

President Trump has repeatedly warned that any Iranian interference with shipping through the strategic waterway would trigger a strong response from the United States.

Reporting from CBS News also noted that during a press conference at the United States Department of Defense, Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said United States Central Command continues operations targeting vessels suspected of laying mines as well as facilities used to store them.

The Strait of Hormuz lies between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula and serves as the main export route for oil from major producers including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar.

Any attempt to block or mine the strait could quickly disrupt global energy supplies, send oil prices sharply higher, and potentially trigger a wider military confrontation in the region.
