UFO expert’s disappearance a ‘grave national security crisis,’ reporter warns
The mysterious disappearance of retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland, a 68-year-old expert on UFOs, has been called a “grave national security crisis” by investigative journalist Ross Coulthart. McCasland vanished without a trace on February 28 after leaving his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on foot, leaving his phone behind. The FBI has since joined the local missing persons investigation.
“This is a man with some of the most sensitive secrets of the United States in his head,” Coulthart said on his “Reality Check” podcast, noting McCasland’s extensive knowledge of what the US government may be concealing about extraterrestrials.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office issued a Silver Alert, urging the public’s assistance in locating McCasland and highlighting that concerns for his safety are heightened due to “medical issues.”
During his Air Force career, McCasland led research at Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, overseeing classified space weapons programs. The base is rumored to hold fragments of extraterrestrial debris from the famed Roswell, New Mexico, UFO incident.
Coulthart noted that McCasland’s disappearance coincided with President Trump making statements about the US government’s knowledge of UFOs. McCasland was reportedly supportive of increasing public disclosure about these classified matters.

“The timing is screechingly relevant,” Coulthart said. “The fact that Gen. Neil McCasland has disappeared off the face of the earth is a grave national security crisis for the United States of America. This is a man with some of the most sensitive secrets of the United States in his head.”
