Russian propagandists have threatened to carry out a devastating strike on Europe in response to Iran’s missile attack, as experts blamed President Donald Trump for “unwittingly creating political and psychological opportunities.” On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

The Russian president described the act as “a murder committed in cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law.” Addressing Russia’s potential next steps, Sergey Karnaukhov, a former president and CEO of The Centre for the National Interest, and Dimitri Simes, also a former president and CEO of the same organization, outlined what they believe should be done, accusing Europe of “waging war” against Russia.

In a conversation with Vladimir Solovyov on the channel Solovyov Live, he said: “Estonia is waging war against us. I think we should reflect on the fact that Mr. Trump unwittingly created political and psychological opportunities for us; he untied the hands of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief to do whatever he deems appropriate to ensure the nation’s security.”

The host continued issuing threats toward Europe. Mr. Solovyov said: “We see what is happening. The only language Europe understands is the language of force, and only when force is used against them. They saw that Oreshnik was used twice and decided they are protected in their little house. It is clearly time to strike their little house.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry sharply condemned the joint U.S.–Israeli military operation in Iran the previous day, calling it “a pre-planned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state” and a violation of fundamental principles of international law. According to Moscow, “Washington and Tel Aviv have once again embarked on a dangerous venture that is rapidly bringing the region closer to a humanitarian, economic, and possibly even radiological catastrophe.”

The ministry further claimed that the United States and Israel are “hiding behind an alleged concern about preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” while their true objective, Moscow asserts, is “to dismantle the constitutional order and remove the leadership of a state they oppose, one that has refused to submit to forceful dictates and hegemonic pressure.”

The Foreign Ministry also urged Russian citizens in Iran and Israel to leave those countries immediately if possible.
