DISTURBING: (Foreign?) Semi-Truck Driver Who Can’t Read Basic Road Signs Barrels Down Missouri Highway Driving the Wrong Way – Nearly Collides with Vehicles
A semi-truck driver was stopped after traveling several miles in the wrong direction on Highway 61 north of Troy, Missouri on Wednesday, according to authorities.
Witness video captured the truck moving southbound in the northbound lanes and nearly colliding with oncoming traffic. One motorist who recorded the incident said the truck approached head-on before they pulled aside to avoid a crash and then followed the vehicle while contacting authorities.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the driver held a commercial driver’s license issued in Minnesota. He stated that the driver was unable to read basic road signage and operated the vehicle in the wrong direction for several miles before being stopped by Missouri law enforcement.
In a statement, Duffy said the driver has been placed out of service and that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is investigating the carrier, Cargo Transportation LLC.
Officials said the incident remains under review.
