Vile LA pimp is jailed for heinous crimes against teen girls he ‘enslaved’
Derran Adkins, 26, has been sentenced to 28 years and eight months in prison for sexually exploiting two teenagers along Los Angeles’ notorious Figueroa Corridor, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed.
Authorities said Adkins recruited a 17-year-old girl through social media in November 2024 and forced her into commercial sex trafficking. When she tried to resist or escape, she was physically assaulted, including an incident in which her hand was brutally mutilated.
A 19-year-old woman also fell victim to Adkins, working as a sex worker between April 2024 and January 2025. Prosecutors said he beat her, burned her with a heated metal spoon, and whipped her with a hanger whenever she questioned his authority or tried to leave.

“A violent sex trafficker and modern-day enslaver has been taken off the streets thanks to the tireless work of our prosecutors and the Los Angeles Police Department,” said LA District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman. “The depravity of sex traffickers who prey on the most vulnerable in our community, including children, knows no bounds.”
Adkins pleaded guilty on February 11 to one felony count of human trafficking of an adult and one felony count of human trafficking of a minor for a commercial sex act, both violent felonies. Two days later, he was sentenced.

The DA’s office said Adkins admitted causing “great bodily injury on both victims during the commission of these offenses.” Hochman emphasized that the case demonstrates serious consequences for traffickers, adding, “Sex trafficking is a multi-billion-dollar business of exploitation that must be destroyed on both the supply and demand side. My office is working with law enforcement to prosecute not only traffickers but also the buyers who drive demand, commonly referred to as ‘johns,’ to end sex trafficking once and for all.”
Even after serving his sentence, Adkins will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
