A Florida woman is facing serious charges after she allegedly attacked the father of her child with a knife in a violent confrontation sparked by a personal betrayal.
Jaqueline Rodriguez, 41, has been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm following the incident at an apartment on NW 177th Street in Miami shortly after midnight on April 28, 2025, according to a probable cause affidavit. Police responded after multiple residents reported hearing what sounded like gunshots coming from a first-floor unit. Upon arrival, officers found blood smeared across the front door.
Authorities knocked on the apartment but received no reply. Believing the situation to be urgent, they entered the unit and discovered the victim on the floor with multiple cuts and scrapes. The victim told investigators that Rodriguez had attacked him with a knife during a physical altercation, describing the attack as “unprovoked.”
He identified Rodriguez as the mother of his child and explained that the confrontation began after she discovered he had been intimate with her sister. The affidavit states that Rodriguez allegedly drew a knife and began stabbing him.
Police wrote that, based on the victim’s account, Rodriguez appeared to intend “great bodily harm and permanent disfigurement.” While the victim declined to provide a sworn statement, officers documented his injuries with photographs.
Rodriguez was taken into custody around 1 a.m. Sunday. It remains unclear why her arrest came nearly a year after the stabbing. In addition to the battery charge, she faces burglary and grand theft allegations for an incident roughly three months earlier, when she and an accomplice reportedly stole $14,000 worth of items from a vehicle following a crash.
She is currently being held in Miami-Dade Corrections without bond.
