WATCH: Law Enforcement Investigating New Ring Camera Footage of Suspicious Man Near Nancy Guthrie’s Home a Week Before Abduction
Investigators are reviewing newly surfaced doorbell camera footage that may be connected to the abduction of Nancy Guthrie. The video shows an unknown man lingering outside a home roughly a week before she disappeared.
The footage, recorded on January 23, captured the man near a front door at approximately 3:30 a.m. and again around 5:00 a.m. It was later shared by the homeowner on the Ring Neighbors app.
The residence where the video was recorded is located about five miles from Guthrie’s home in Pima County. According to reporting by TMZ, authorities are examining the clip as a possible investigative lead.

TMZ reported that the man, described as having a goatee, appeared to deliberately position himself in a way that made it harder for the camera to capture his face. Despite this, the doorbell camera still recorded a clear image as he rang the bell shortly before 5 a.m. The homeowner who uploaded the footage said the individual left the area when dogs inside the house began barking.
A senior law enforcement source told TMZ that both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of the video and are assessing whether it could be relevant to the case.
While TMZ shared a version of the footage with the man’s face obscured, copies circulating on social media appear to show his features more clearly. Observers noted that his facial hair resembles that of the individual seen in previously released porch camera footage from Guthrie’s home that was made public by investigators.
Authorities have also looked into separate video of another man wearing a backpack similar to the one seen in the porch footage tied to Guthrie’s disappearance. After investigation, that individual was determined to have no connection to the case.
Nancy Guthrie is the mother of television journalist Savannah Guthrie, and the case remains under active investigation.
