WATCH: Man with Similar Backpack Seen on Person in Chilling Porch Video Spotted a Few Miles Away From Nancy Guthrie’s Home
A man carrying a backpack similar to the one seen in porch surveillance footage connected to Nancy Guthrie’s abduction was recorded just a few miles from her home shortly before she was taken.
TMZ obtained new Ring camera video showing the man approximately five miles from Nancy Guthrie’s residence in the early morning hours. In the footage, timestamped 1:52 a.m., the man is seen attempting to enter a locked gate but is unsuccessful.
According to the timeline, Nancy Guthrie’s Nest camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. Later, at 2:12 a.m., the device detected a masked individual on her porch. Authorities have confirmed that the backpack worn by the suspected abductor is a Walmart Ozark Trail Hiker model.
The FBI is aware of the newly surfaced video and is working to identify and interview the man seen in it. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that investigators are closely examining the footage because of how closely the timing aligns with the kidnapping.

The backpack visible in the Ring footage appears to have reflective straps similar to those seen on the bag worn by the masked individual approaching Nancy’s front door. It is not yet clear whether the reflectors are located on the shoulder straps or along the sides of the pack.
Authorities have confirmed TMZ’s earlier report identifying the backpack at Nancy’s home as a Walmart Ozark Trail Hiker. In the new video, the man is seen wearing two backpacks while trying to access the locked gate. The footage shows him leaving the area at 1:53 a.m.
Based on the timeline, if this individual is connected to the abduction, he would have had roughly 19 minutes to travel the five miles to Nancy’s home, change his appearance, and approach her door.
Earlier in the week, the FBI released surveillance footage showing a masked, armed individual on Nancy Guthrie’s porch appearing to tamper with the camera.
