Customs and Border Protection Supervisor Arrested For Harboring Illegal Alien and “Maintaining a Romantic Relationship with Her”

The U.S. Department of Justice has arrested and charged a Customs and Border Protection supervisor with harboring an undocumented immigrant and maintaining a romantic relationship with her.

According to an announcement from U.S. Department of Justice, 52-year-old CBP supervisor Andres Wilkinson faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a potential $250,000 fine if convicted.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei said Wilkinson made his initial court appearance and will remain in custody pending a detention hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Brian C. Bajew.

Wilkinson has served with U.S. Customs and Border Protection since 2001 and was promoted to a supervisory role in 2021. In that position, he was responsible for overseeing enforcement of customs and immigration laws.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators learned that a woman without legal immigration status and her minor child were living at Wilkinson’s residence. Authorities allege Wilkinson was aware of her status and maintained a romantic relationship with her.

Court records state the woman initially entered the United States on a nonimmigrant visa in August 2023 and later overstayed her authorized period of stay.

From June through November 2025, law enforcement conducted surveillance at Wilkinson’s home and observed the woman and her child living there. Investigators also reported seeing her use vehicles registered to Wilkinson.

In February 2026, investigators interviewed the woman. The complaint alleges she had been residing with Wilkinson since August 2024. Authorities further allege Wilkinson provided financial support, including housing, credit cards, help with financial obligations, and access to a vehicle registered in his name. The complaint also alleges Wilkinson knowingly transported her through U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints and traveled with her to San Antonio.

The investigation was conducted by CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility in Laredo. Assistant U.S. Attorney Manuel Cardenas is prosecuting the case.

Officials said the case is part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative focused on combating illegal immigration, dismantling transnational criminal organizations, and addressing violent crime.
