Trump hints at ‘solution’ in Nancy Guthrie case
President Trump has suggested there could soon be a “solution” in the case of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 when family members dropped her off at her Tucson home after dinner.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One Friday night, President Trump said investigators have “very strong” leads and indicated that answers might emerge soon.
“We have some clues that I think are very strong, and I think we could have some answers coming up fairly soon,” Trump said. When asked about the scope of the search, he clarified, “No, I’m not talking about a search. I’m talking about a solution. We have some things I think that will maybe come out reasonably soon from DOJ or FBI or whoever that could be.”
Pressed on whether he was referring to a suspect, the president replied, “Yeah, could be definitive.”
The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.
