A man wielding a machete chased a 17-year-old laundromat employee after demanding he take off his San Francisco 49ers jersey, in a terrifying incident caught on video in Pomona, Los Angeles County.

Jacob Hernandez told NBC Los Angeles, “I had a red shirt because the 49ers were playing that day. He came in, saw my shirt and said, ‘Get that effing red off.’”

Footage shows the suspect lunging at the teen, smashing the laundromat’s glass door, and coming dangerously close to a person standing near the entrance. The man was also seen striking a countertop with the machete while moving around the business and threatening customers.

No one was hurt, and police said there had been no arrests as of Monday.

Jacob’s father, Phil Hernandez, told NBC Los Angeles that he heard screams and rushed to secure the door, keeping the suspect out. “What bothered me the most was that he went after my son,” he said. “I wasn’t supposed to be here that day, and my son works here alone. I’m not sure how my son or anyone would have handled that.”
