Ford Auto Worker Suspended After Screaming Obscenities at President Trump – Now Insists He’s the Victim of “Political Retribution” – Is Raising Money on GoFundMe
Trump points at and flips off heckler at Ford plant in Dearborn on Tuesday.
President Trump traveled to Michigan on Tuesday to tour Ford Motor Company’s F-150 manufacturing plant in Dearborn and deliver remarks to members of the Detroit Economic Club.
During his visit to the facility, President Trump was greeted warmly by many workers and paused to take selfies as he walked through the plant alongside Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr.
The visit was briefly disrupted when an employee shouted insults at the president from a distance. According to multiple reports, the worker yelled accusations at President Trump as he moved through the facility. The president responded with a brief gesture and appeared to mouth a profane remark.
White House spokesperson Steven Cheung defended the president’s reaction, stating, “A lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a fit of rage, and the President gave an appropriate and unambiguous response.”
The Detroit Free Press reported that the employee involved in the incident was suspended pending an internal review by Ford.
The worker, identified as TJ Sabula, later spoke publicly about the incident, saying he does not regret confronting the president. In comments to The Washington Post, Sabula said he was standing approximately 60 feet away and believed President Trump could hear him clearly. He acknowledged concerns about his job but claimed he was being targeted for political retaliation after the incident.
FOX News reported that Sabula has since launched a GoFundMe campaign following his suspension, which has drawn donations from supporters.
Ford Motor Company has not publicly commented on the status of the investigation.
