BREAKING: ICE Agent Who Fatally Shot Leftist Activist Renee Good as She Tried to Run Him Over Suffered Internal Bleeding to the Torso
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot a woman during a lawful immigration operation in Minneapolis last week suffered internal bleeding to his torso, according to U.S. officials familiar with the incident.
The woman, identified as Renee Good, was shot after authorities say she attempted to use her vehicle to run over an ICE agent as officers conducted enforcement activity in a Minneapolis neighborhood.
President Donald Trump and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem previously confirmed that the agent was transported to a local hospital following the incident and treated for injuries.
In a statement posted last week on Truth Social, President Trump said he had reviewed video footage of the event and described it as “horrible to watch.” He said the agent appeared to act in self-defense after being struck by the vehicle. Trump added that the agent survived the incident and was recovering in the hospital. He also blamed escalating hostility toward law enforcement officers for contributing to such confrontations.
According to CBS News, the ICE agent involved, Jonathan Ross, experienced internal bleeding to his torso. The extent of the injuries remains unclear. The Department of Homeland Security has not yet provided additional details. Video footage from the scene showed Ross walking away after the shooting.
Secretary Noem confirmed that Ross was released from the hospital the same day and said he was recovering. She described Ross as an experienced law enforcement officer who believed his actions were necessary to protect himself and other agents.
Body-worn and cellphone footage released last Friday captured moments leading up to the shooting. The video shows Good’s partner verbally confronting an ICE agent as he approached the SUV. As agents attempted to remove Good from the vehicle, authorities say she accelerated forward while her partner urged her to drive away.
Moments later, the agent fired his weapon, fatally striking Good. Authorities continue to review the incident in its entirety.
