A valet employee at a Hilton hotel in Dallas says she was fired after posting a TikTok video alerting viewers that federal immigration agents were staying at the property.

The worker, a 20-year-old who identifies herself only as Gia for safety reasons, recorded the video Wednesday at the Hilton Anatole. In the clip, she pointed out several unmarked vehicles she said belonged to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). “Quite frankly, I don’t really care if I lose my job,” she said in the video. “I care more about your families and about unity.”

Gia told the Dallas Morning News that a manager with Towne Park — the third-party company that operates valet services at the hotel — instructed her to delete the video. When she refused, she said she was terminated for allegedly violating the company’s social media policy. Towne Park confirmed her dismissal in a statement, saying the employee “violated our business conduct policy and is no longer employed by our company.”

A spokesperson for the Hilton Anatole said the hotel contacted Towne Park after becoming aware of the video, adding that the property prioritizes guest privacy and strives to remain a welcoming environment for everyone.

The TikTok video has received more than 2.5 million views and has prompted online calls to boycott Hilton, according to The Independent. Gia says she has also received threats on the platform. A nursing student, she said she shared the video out of concern that immigration operations could lead to families being separated and innocent people being detained. She added that she was particularly worried about hotel employees and noted that the video does not show agents’ faces.

“I’m not trying to be political,” Gia said, adding that she believes civil rights are being undermined. Last week, Hilton ended its relationship with a Minneapolis-area hotel that had canceled reservations for ICE agents.
