Thousands of phone chargers sold at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls under recall for explosion threat
Over 13,000 magnetic phone chargers sold at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are being recalled after safety officials warned they could explode, posing a fire and burn risk.
The recall affects Isla Rae brand magnetic wireless chargers sold nationwide between June 2024 and November 2025 for about $15 each. The chargers come in purple, white, and pink.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) identified the affected models as RM5PBMDP, RM5PBMSL, and RM5PBMPW. About 13,200 units were sold in the U.S., with an additional 7,000 sold in Canada.

Consumers who purchased these chargers are urged to stop using them immediately and register the product online to receive a refund. The CPSC warns against throwing the chargers in the trash and recommends recycling them at designated lithium-ion battery collection points, such as those at home improvement stores.
Household hazardous waste collection centers may also accept these chargers for safe disposal, the agency said.
No injuries have been reported so far related to the defective chargers.
