At the top of Atherton’s list is the Siberian Husky — a strikingly beautiful, high-energy breed with a fiercely independent streak. Originally bred to pull sleds across icy terrain, Huskies have boundless stamina and need constant activity to stay focused.
Huskies don’t naturally seek human approval, preferring to follow their own instincts. Their combination of intelligence, energy, and stubbornness can make even basic commands a challenge.
Training a Husky requires patience, creativity, and consistent engagement. Short, varied sessions that channel their energy constructively are key. Without the right effort, commands are likely to be ignored — no matter how many treats are offered.
2. Dachshund: small dog, giant attitude
